Morris Law has acted as legal advisor to Baneservice AS in connection with its acquisition of Elektrosignal Infra AB in Sweden and Ratatek Oy in Finland from Expin Group AB (part of the Ratos group).

The acquisitions represent an important step in Baneservice’s long-term growth strategy and strengthen the company’s position in the Nordic market. Through the transactions, Baneservice adds significant technical expertise and capacity within electrification, signalling and overhead line systems for rail infrastructure.

Baneservice’s CEO, Kjersti Kanne, has highlighted that the acquisitions mark an important milestone for the company, strengthening its platform and further enhancing rail-technical capacity and expertise for the benefit of both employees and customers. The parties also expect significant synergies as a result of the transaction.

The transaction takes place at a time when the need for maintenance and renewal of rail and light rail infrastructure is increasing significantly across the Nordics. With substantial investments being made in the sector, the acquisitions enhance Baneservice’s platform and delivery capability in a growing and socially critical market.

Morris Law supported Baneservice throughout the transaction process. The firm’s core team primarily consisted of Jesper Almqvist and Olof Myhrman, with valuable contributions from several specialist teams within the firm.

We thank Baneservice for the trust placed in us and congratulate all parties on a successfully completed transaction.
