Morris Law acted as legal advisor to Varberg Energimarknad AB in connection with the sale of the hydropower assets Maredsfors, Oskarström Övre and Oskarström Nedre to Locus Hydro AB.


SEB Nordic Energy Fund, through Locus Energy, has completed the acquisition of three hydropower assets located along the Nissan River in Halmstad Municipality, bidding zone SE4. The assets – Maredsfors, Oskarström Övre and Oskarström Nedre – have a combined annual production of approximately 24 GWh, strengthening Locus Energy’s growing renewable energy portfolio in southern Sweden.

Locus Energy is a long-term owner and developer of renewable energy in the Nordic region. The company is owned by the Article 9 fund SEB Nordic Energy and invests capital from the fund in small-scale hydropower, wind power and battery storage. The business model focuses on acquiring and modernizing existing facilities to increase local, sustainable energy production and meet future environmental standards.

Morris Law and Litigium Capital enter into collaboration agreement for financing of disputes

Morris Law has entered into a collaboration agreement with legal financing company Litigium Capital for the financing of disputes. The agreement, likely the first of its kind in the Nordic region, means that Litigium Capital will invest in a portfolio of disputes managed by Morris Law on full or partial contingency (under a success-based fee model).
